Oral health care in cancer therapy and how to manage it Oral health 11. 02. 2021 Professor Ourania Nikolatou-Galiti has the great honor to present the important contribution of Oral Health to the cancer patient. The online seminar "The Mouth: A reflection of your health and of cancer" is organized by the Kozani branch of the Hellenic Cancer Society in collaboration with WinCancer on Wednesday 17/02 at 07:00 pm. Many thanks for the invitation and congratulations for the pioneering EAE & WinCancer event and the Ministry of Health, which embraces the event, and the fellow organizer of this excellent event, Dr. Homeros Papathanassiou! The purpose of the webinar is to inform the oncology patient about the oral care before, during and after the end of the cancer treatment. The webinar is addressed to the oncology patient, but also to his caregivers and health professionals involved in the care of the cancer patient. Participation will be free through the ZOOM platform. The participation link will be announced on the day of the webinar on the page of the branch of EAE N. Kozani on facebook. The oral cavity is one of the important goals of oncology treatment, with serious consequences on the quality of life, both related to oral health and our general health. Dental problems can be effectively prevented before starting chemotherapy or radiotherapy, but can also be easily treated during treatment. Preventive oral support measures must be implemented before treatment, just as continuous monitoring and subsequent early treatment of symptoms; otherwise treatment can end up being painful, difficult to treat and with adverse chronic effects. Therefore "I do not neglect my mouth and I learn to take care of it properly". Dr. Ourania Nikolatou-Galiti is a Dentist, Professor of EKPA, Scientific Director of CureCancer - mycancer.gr, which has a mission of supportive care. CureCancer - mycancer.gr was recently selected and is included in the action of the Ministry of Development and Investment - Secretariat for Research and Technology Elevate Greece.
