We are Professor Ourania Nicolatou-Galiti and Dr. Dimitra Galiti.
For more than 30 years, we have dedicated our work to supporting people with cancer through oral health care. Why? Because the mouth is not just about teeth and gums. It is directly linked to how well you can eat, speak, heal, and tolerate cancer therapy.
Professor Ourania Nicolatou-Galiti
- Professor of Dentistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
- Specialized in Oral Pathology at Temple University, USA.
- Founder of Oral Supportive Oncology in Greece.
- Received the Distinguished Service Award (MASCC/ISOO, 2024) for her lifelong contribution to oral supportive care.
- Former President of the International Society of Oral Oncology (ISOO).
- Current President of the Hellenic Society of Head & Neck Cancer.
- Recognized internationally for pioneering research on:
- Oral mucositis (painful mouth sores)
- Radiation toxicities
- Osteonecrosis of the jaw
- Oral complications of immunotherapy and targeted therapies
- Author of 69+ scientific publications, with more than 4,200 citations worldwide.
Dr. Dimitra Galiti
- PhD in Oral Diagnosis & Radiology, University of Athens.
- MSc in Forensic Odontology (magna cum laude), KU Leuven, Belgium.
- Received the Young Investigator Award by MASCC/ISOO for research on oral mucositis during head & neck radiotherapy.
- Member of international research groups on mucositis, oral care, and bone complications.
- Published 17 scientific papers, cited in more than 670 works, with a focus on:
- Imaging and early diagnosis of osteonecrosis of the jaw
- Oral side effects in immunotherapy and radiation
- Digital health tools for cancer patient care
- Co-founder of mycancer, together with Prof. Nicolatou-Galiti.
