Oral & Dental Health in Cancer Events, Seminars, & Publications 27. 09. 2023 Today, 43.8 million cancer patients survive worldwide, while 18.1 million are diagnosed with cancer every year. A 60% increase is estimated up to 2040. Cancer therapies are related to complications, while the oral cavity is a particular target of cancer therapies. The contribution of an appropriately educated dentist in the multidisciplinary management of the patient with cancer is an urgent need. [FDI – International Dental Federation 2020-2021]. We are happy to invite you to our Webinars for the Sensitization and Education of the Dentists in three main axons-phases of cancer trajectory: (a) assessment of the oral cavity and preparation of the patient prior to the initiation of cancer therapy, (b) follow of the oral health and collaboration with patient’s oncologist during cancer therapy and (c) oral care, prevention and early diagnosis of the chronic oral complications after the completion of cancer therapy. The Webinars are under the Auspices of the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology, the Hellenic Society of Radiation Oncology, and the Hellenic Society of Neck & Head Cancer. In Webinar 1 we will present the oral complications in patients with Head, Neck and Oral Cancer, who receive radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy and the contribution of the Dentist.
