The Conference of the Society for the Study of New Drugs in Oncology entitled «Developments and challenges in Oncology, Interdisciplinary approach for all our patients», was held, for the 5th year, on October 4 and 5, 2023, with great success. There was a large participation of medical oncologists and doctors, and scientists of other specialties. The Conference was held in the Amphitheater of the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens - GSNA.

Our invitation to coordinate the Session "Developments in supportive oncology" together with distinguished colleagues, the Award-winning Professor and Medical Oncologist Dr. Michalis Karamouzis and Professor and Cardiologist Dr. Dimitrios Farmakis, was a great honor for us.

As part of the Session, and with great pleasure, we presented the oral symptoms and mucositis in chemotherapy, Head and Neck radiotherapy, and immunotherapy.

Properly trained dentists, in collaboration with the medical oncologist, will significantly help prevent the complication and reduce its severity. The Dentist will also contribute to the timely and effective treatment of infections, which may appear in the oral mucosa during treatment, but also years later.
