The innovative tool CureCancer - mycancer.gr introduces technology to medicine, aiming to improve the quality of medical service to patients. CureCancer - mycancer.gr is a patient-centered and patient-driven tool.

CureCancer - mycancer.gr was inspired and created by Dr Dimitra Galiti, PhD candidate of the Dental School of EKPA. As Dr Galiti explains, the idea came about through the difficulties in the day-to-day care of cancer patients facing oral complications, related to their anti-cancer treatment.

Clinical and social benefits include investigating drug efficacy and toxicity as recorded by patients, and what is the best medical care. CureCancer - mycancer.gr will help increase treatment success and reduce toxicity, while maintaining patients’ quality of life within family and social and work environment.

The Scientific responsible of CureCancer - mycancer.gr, Professor Ourania Nicolatou-Galitis, explains how at the same time the financial burden/toxicity is reduced, ie the cost of cancer treatment, as well as the otherwise increased cost of supportive care.

The innovation of the startup has been recognized by the International Organization Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer-MASCC, mascc.org, as well as by domestic entrepreneurship. CureCancer - mycancer.gr was hosted in the Incubator for the development of innovative start-ups-THEA of EΒEA and by "ARCHIMIDIS", Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The pilot application of CureCancer - mycancer.gr in the Oncology community was made through the collaboration of the Hellenic Society of Oncologists of Greece-HeSMO.
